Product innovations will be presented at the sps ipc drive trade show (22 - 24.11) in Nuremberg

The Schlemmer Group is expanding its product portfolio to include improved ATEX cable glands. The cable glands of the ATEX Ex d/e/t series have been re-engineered on the basis of updated ATEX standards (ATEX Product Directive 2014/34/EU) and adapted to customers’ specific requirements. Also, the Schlemmer Group's product range has been expanded by the brand-new ATEX 4F Deluge cable gland which meets the specific requirements of the offshore industry.

In most industrial environments, gases, vapours or combustible dusts are generated. These explosive atmospheres can be ignited, for example, by a short circuit of electrical equipment or by hot surfaces – usually with devastating consequences.

The Schlemmer Group is a specialist in cable glands designed for installation in such explosive areas.

With the redesigned series "ATEX Ex d/e/t", the weight of the cable glands has been reduced, the flame propagation further increased and the bending protection further improved. This has resulted in a compact design that meets customers’ requirements for space-saving solutions. In order to guarantee the functional reliability of Schlemmer cable glands, only high-quality materials are used: V4A stainless steel, nickel-plated brass, non-plated brass and glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide.

The cable glands are available in all common thread types and sizes to meet the widest range of device types and housing designs. They meet the requirements of worldwide standards: metric (European), NPT (American) and long and short versions. In the 4F and 4F Deluge version, the cable sheath is also sealed prior to shield contact. The Ex d/e/t 4F Deluge also offers a special function: an additional O-ring ensures complete sealing of the cable gland and thus offers protection against corrosion of the cable.

The Schlemmer Group will be presenting its products including the new ATEX Ex d/e/t series at the sps ipc drive from 22 to 24 November in Nuremberg in Hall 5, Stand 5-247.
