Resounding success for KTM Factory at the end of the rally season!

Matthias Walkner wins the OiLibya Rally of Morocco 2017.
Schlemmer and KTM Factory? The perfect match! In July they were guests at the opening ceremony of our new Schlemmer headquarters in Munich, and just recently the Austrian Matthias Walkner and his team colleague Sam Sunderland took on the challenges of the sand dunes of North Africa – with success!
The OiLibya Rally of Morocco 2017 held from 4 – 10 October 2017 was the fifth and final rally of the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship 2017. With a total distance of almost 2,000 km, it was also one of the most gruelling races of this year's World Cup round.
On the first day, both Walkner and Sunderland produced outstanding performances and took 1st place (Sunderland) and 2nd place (Walkner). Over the next few days, the Austrian Matthias Walkner in particular confirmed this good form. With second place on the third day as well as a victory in the fifth and final stage, Walkner was crowned the winner of this year's OiLibya Rally of Morocco and claimed a spot on the podium in the World Cup standings.

The 2017 rally season thus ended on an extremely successful note for our sponsoring partner KTM Factory. Now it is up to the entire team to recuperate and recharge their batteries before the starter’s flag is lowered for the infamous Dakar Rally on the 6th of January 2018.
