Polyflex TWIN cable protection for photovoltaic systems prevent unnecessary failures

Poing, 4. February 2011 - Cable protection is becoming an increasingly important factor in the cost of ownership for photovoltaic systems. The two-piece Polyflex TWIN, a bending-resistant corrugated tube by the German/Bavarian technology company Schlemmer, perfectly protects all outdoor cables from damage or animal bites as well as from extreme climatic conditions and UV radiation. Previously known primarily from its use in automotive applications, Polyflex TWIN has been improved yet again for use in photovoltaic systems. Polyflex TWIN cable protection now features UV and bite resistance, and effectively helps reduce costs and ensure trouble-free operation of PV systems. It can be easily retrofitted and thus allows standard manufacturer-supplied strings without UV and bite resistance to be perfectly protected. Manufacturers and/or installation operators save the costs incurred for the use of special cables. The purchasing costs of these specialty cables are clearly higher than those of the Polyflex TWIN corrugated tube by Schlemmer. The resulting cost savings reduce the amortization period of the system. The installation of cable protection minimizes failures caused by line damage, guarantees trouble-free operation of the system, and prevents additional repair costs. Consequently, the photovoltaic system pays off for the operator in a much shorter period of time.

Polyflex TWIN is available worldwide from the Schlemmer Group and its distribution partners and comes in ten different rated widths. For difficult rooftop installations, the rated widths of 10 and 13 are particularly well suited. The rated width of 50 allows several strings to be consolidated in a very easy and precise manner.
