Efficient alternative: the Schlemmer energy fence

Low-cost complement for water-to-water heat pumps

Poing, 11. April 2011 - The German/Bavarian technology company Schlemmer now offers a completely new variant of its absorber technology for efficient heat generation: the Polyflex Sun Energy Fence. In combination with a water-to-water heat pump an energy fence offers high ease of use and provides a low-cost alternative to conventional heating systems. The Schlemmer corrugated tubes used for the fence are characterized by high quality and long durability.

Stacked Schlemmer corrugated tubes filled with brine are braided to create the fence. As in the case of a solar collector, the tubes absorb solar energy, heat the brine and feed the heated brine to the heat pump. Additionally, to ensure that the new technology can fully exploit its potential, the energy fence is buried in the ground down to one third of its height. The earth collector in the ground stores heat for the night and for colder days.

The combination of the heat pump and energy fence keeps the heat pump's coefficient of performance (COP) at a high level when temperatures are low. Compared with an air-to-water heat pump this system offers the advantage of eliminating the need for additional, cost-intensive heating in case of low outdoor temperatures. The energy fence and the water-to-water heat pump fully cover the heat requirement.

The additional advantages offered by the Schlemmer Polyflex Sun Energy Fence are obvious:

  • Saves heating costs
  • Is cost-effective, eco-conscious and efficient
  • Operates with natural solar energy
  • Equalizes temperature peaks through the earth collector
  • Can be easily integrated into the surrounding landscape design as
    a fence
  • Offers long durability due to UV-resistant, bite-proof and heat-resistant corrugated tubes

Investing in an energy fence pays off
Within just 4.5 years the installation of a Polyflex Sun Energy Fence pays off in comparison with a conventional oil or gas heating system.
