New Production Facility in Satu Mare...

The automotive supplier Schlemmer sets another milestone to its further world-wide expansion with a new production plant in Satu Mare, Romania.

With the turn of the first spadeful of earth on July 21, 2005 an initial step was taken to set up a production plant with an investment of 10 mio. Euros. The multi-stage construction will provide around 80 new jobs in Satu Mare. During the first stage of construction production shall start in the beginning of 2006. Schlemmer is one of the leading suppliers of Protection Systems as well as Air & Fluid and Mechatronic Systems for the automotive industry. With a further production plant in Romania Schlemmer expects besides beneficial cost effects, logistical advantages due to short routes and a quick delivery to the numerous automobile manufacturers and cable equipment suppliers already settled in Romania and the surrounding countries. Satu Mare furthermore offers qualified personnel, which is a vital necessity for such an expansion.

Romania from the strategic point of view is an excellent starting point for a further expansion to Eastern Europe, so as to ensure close individual customer service as well as to maintain the logistic infrastructure.
